The Foran "Applied Estate Planning Seminar" would appeal to students in the CLU™ program, and also to advisors and others who want to learn more about key issues in estate planning and business succession.
Content: The first 2½ days of this three-day seminar will consist of lectures based on: will planning; advanced taxation issues including attribution rules, estate freezes, inter vivos transfers and post mortem planning; buy-sell agreements for unincorporated and private limited companies; compensation planning including retirement compensation arrangements; charitable gifting; and related issues in building and passing on an estate.
The last part of the three-day session will focus on applying student knowledge to real life estate planning situations using a case study approach. A panel of experts will facilitate this part of the program through an interactive process.
