Foran Financial Institute is an independent supplier of educational services. Its exam preparation courses are not sponsored by the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) or any other industry organization.
I found that Rons’ and Dougs’ instruction enabled me to pick the most correct answer of two or more correct answers in a multiple choice situation. Teaching us how to read each question properly and paying attention to the meaning of each word, so that we are clear on what answer to look for, played a large part in helping me to pass the FPE1 on my first attempt.
Of course the highly qualified Foran instructors, leading us through the mountain of course material required for FPE1, played no small part in my success as well.

I attended both the Foran 5-day Workshop for FPE1 Candidates and the Foran 1-day Case Study Seminar for FPE1 Candidates prior to my FPE1 exam.
My two goals were to; 1) Identify what areas of knowledge to focus on and to what depth. 2) How to optimize my time during the exam. Due to the expert knowledge, effective instruction of the Foran Workshop & Seminar both my goals were achieved and I have passed the FPE1 Exam!
In perticular I highly valued the patient explanation, diagrams and flowcharts used to explain complicated topics and the in-class detail reviews.
The case study seminar taught me how to filter key information in order to answer the questions time efficiently. Cases can easily consume a lot of valuable exam time, therefore I feel this was also a key contributing skill that assist me.
I strongly recommend both courses for anyone preparing for the FPE1 Exam.
