The Foran 4-day IMT® Examination Preparation seminar helps prepare students to write the CSI Investment Management Techniques exams 1 and 2. The Foran Seminar prepares students for both the IMT general knowledge multiple-choice exam and the IMT case study multiple-choice exam.

The Foran 4-day IMT® Examination Preparation seminar includes: lectures; comprehensive study notes; in-class handouts; and a quiz book which contains over 1000 quiz questions and answers.

IMT Content Covered:

The Foran 4-day IMT® Examination Preparation seminar covers: the portfolio management process; understanding a client’s risk tolerance; asset allocation techniques and investment strategies; equity securities and characteristics of common shares and preferred shares; analysis of equity securities including economic and industry analysis, company analysis and equity valuation techniques such as the dividend discount model; and technical analysis.

The Foran 4-day IMT® Examination Preparation seminar also covers: characteristics of debt securities including money market instruments and bonds; bond pricing using present values; interest rate analysis including calculating Macauly duration; modified duration and convexity ; credit analysis and credit spreads; determinants of the term structure of interest rates; passive debt investment strategies (eg. indexing and laddering) and active debt investment strategies (eg intermarket and intramarket spreads); analysis of conventional managed products (eg mutual funds); analysis of non-conventional managed products (including hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, commodities and private equity); international investing (eg. ADRs, ETFs and mutual funds) and international tax issues; managing a client’s investment risk (eg using MPT and derivatives); impediments to wealth management (taxes, inflation and fees); portfolio monitoring and performance appraisal; and financial math.
